29 August 2026Trust Yourself — You Know More Than You Think
How many times have you known something deep down, only to immediately start talking yourself out of it?
You get that feeling in your gut. Something inside you says yes, no, go for it, walk away, speak up, try again. And then your brain joins the conversation. Suddenly you’re analysing every possible outcome, asking everyone else what they think and looking for reassurance that you’re making the “right” decision.
Before you know it, your own voice has become the quietest one in the room.
The thing is, trusting yourself doesn’t mean believing you’ll always make the perfect decision. None of us will. We’re human. Sometimes we’ll get things spectacularly wrong. Sometimes we’ll take a chance and discover it wasn’t what we thought it would be. Sometimes we’ll ignore our intuition completely and realise afterwards that the little voice in our head had been bloody right all along.
Self-trust isn’t about never making mistakes. It’s knowing that even when you do, you’ll be okay.
You’ll deal with it. You’ll learn something. You’ll change direction if you need to. You’ll pick yourself back up and work out what comes next, because you’ve already done that more times than you probably give yourself credit for.
There’s also a huge difference between asking for advice and handing somebody else responsibility for your life. Other people can offer their perspective, but they’re looking at your situation through the lens of their experiences, fears and beliefs. They don’t live inside your head. They don’t feel what you feel. And ultimately, they’re not the person who has to live with the choice.
You are.
Maybe that’s why learning to trust yourself can feel so uncomfortable. There’s nobody else to blame if things don’t go according to plan. But there’s also something incredibly freeing about realising you don’t need permission to make choices for your own life.
You’re allowed to change your mind. You’re allowed to take the chance. You’re allowed to say no when everyone else thinks you should say yes. You’re allowed to choose something simply because it feels right for you.
And if it turns out you were wrong?
You’ll handle that too.
So today, instead of immediately looking outside yourself for the answer, give your own voice a chance to speak first.
You might be surprised by how much you already know.
Trust yourself. You’ve got you. 💛✨
